I found a lot of recipes for falafel online and almost every one is different.
You have to try it out and adjust the recipe to your liking.
This is my simple/begginer version which anyone can make!

Ingredients

– cooked and drained chickpeas
– garlic
– onions
– parsley
– salt
– pepper
– chilli
– cumin
– olive oil
– white flour
– water

Recipe

Cook and drain about 500 grams of chickpeas.

Add two onions, garlic, parsley, spices and olive oil.

Mix everything together using a blender until you get a smooth texture.
If it’s not smooth enough, add more olive oil.

Once you have the paste, leave it for about 30 minutes.
Then start creating your falafels.
Dip your fingers in water to avoid stickiness.

Dip the falafels into white flour before cooking, so they don’t fall apart while cooking.

Preheat oil in a pan and insert the falafels when the oil is hot.

Cook until they get a golden crust on each side.

Prepare a clean paper towel on which you’ll put the falafels, to drain the extra oil.

Serve with tortillas, bread or whatever you like, and add sauces, toppings and fresh veggies.

I used some salty pancakes, tahini spread, vegan mayo, cabbage and onions.

Enjoy!
